Project management careers in Alberta?
I live in the United Kingdom and have graduate and post-graduate degrees in Business and Management. Currently I work for an international oil & gas company as Project CoOrdinator which is a technical role. I have experience in Pipeline Engineering/Construction and Primavera (P3), and have gained a diploma in Project Controls through Company’s sponsorship. I have been in this role for 2 years, and now thinking to immigrate to Canada.
I know there’s lots of Engineering and Construction jobs in Canada especially in Alberta, but I’m just wondering if my 2 years experience (and Business based degrees) would be enough to get me a job there or should I stay in the UK until I get some more technical experience (..considering I want to leave UK asap).
Please can someone also tell me what are the salaries like?

I have an Associates degree in Architectural Technology. I currently work for a general contractor in commercial construction. I live in the south but I am originally from the mid-west. I think some of my not enjoying the job has to do with the personalities of my co-workers. I guess I’m not cut out to be a southern girl. I plan to move back to the mid-west so what type of job do you suggest I look for. Especially because the construction market is down.
Actually I suggest you stay where you are for a while longer. The job market nationwide is down now and it isn’t going to improve for at least 6 months to a year. If you do move without a job you had better have a plan on how you are going to live for a year without income.
